One day in Formentera
Just 20km from the island of Ibiza lies the smallest island of the Balearic Islands, the paradisiacal island of Formentera, located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Despite its small size, it hides corners and natural spots of incomparable beauty, offering unique experiences even if you only have one day to visit it.
At Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe Hotel we will immerse you in a small 1-day tour of the impressive island of Formentera.
First of all, you’ll have to take the ferry from the port of Ibiza to Formentera for a 45-minute trip. The first thing you should do when you arrive at the port of Formentera is to hire a car or motorbike, we recommend the motorbike as you’ll be able to get around more easily and quickly and explore the island to the maximum in 1 day.
Start the route crossing the Natural Park of Ses Salines in the direction of the Ses Illetes beach, a paradise of crystal clear waters with white sand surrounded by dunes and considered one of the best beaches in the world. From its shore you can see several islets, which can be easily reached by swimming. Discover the different high quality gastronomic options that can be found along the beach.
Continue to Cala Saona, another of the most famous beaches on the island of Formentera for its stunning turquoise waters, where you can take a refreshing dip and admire its beauty to continue the route. At lunchtime, we recommend you visit the picturesque coastal village of Es Pujols, where in addition to its crystal-clear and quiet beach, you can also find a wide variety of bars, restaurants and shops to have a good time.
Before sunset we recommend you visit La Mola lighthouse, a symbol that represents the eastern end of the island of Formentera. It is located on the highest point of the island, from where you can enjoy breathtaking and infinite views of the Mediterranean Sea and its cliffs.
Before going to the port to catch the ferry back to the island of Ibiza, continue the route to watch the sunset at Migjorn beach, one of the jewels of the island of Formentera and the Mediterranean Sea, where you can also see a stunning sunset. This is the longest beach on Formentera and is a mixture of different coves and bays of white sand with transparent, calm and shallow waters. A true paradise that you can’t miss on a 1-day route around Formentera.
